I am featured in the SOSIALITA page of KOMPAS Minggu 15 October 2006. A big THANK YOU to Kompas for publishing my interview in such a long article.
I was excited when I got the phone call for the the interview. And to finally see it today, a teaser on the front page, and then the WHOLE PAGE on page 20. I am just so happy to appear in such huge space in Kompas. Honestly, I am extremely honoured.
Contrary to what the sub-headline stated, I actually never told the journalist that I didn't wanna be called Maylaf or My Love..What I dont like to be called is "mayla" or "may".. because it wasn't meant to be called that way when my mom created my name. In fact, Maylaf is my actual name, and my mom made it as she took it from the phrase "My Love". Of course I want to be called by my real name and I don't mind at all to be called Maylaf. So i suppose to be called Fayza or Maylaf is actually what it is suppose to be, as it was the phrasing from Maylaffayza, and it is the real thing, ladies and gentlemen...
Oh well, it was a really nice ONE PAGE article. Can't complain about that, right? ;> I am actually happy:)

Anyway,to remember 12 years...sweet Jesus....such a long time ya?!oh ya, btw, today, aku baru perform di istana wapres sama Oom Idris..nerusin legacy nya, i should be pemain biola istana for next year and couple of years ahead. (this is what the assistant deputy minister bilang lohh...aku jadi seneng banget and honoured) which is really cool...regenerasi..saatnya . jadi, to look back 12 years ago...jadi berharga aja semuanya:) all the hard work really pays off.and you were there with me melewati masa masa tolol..ha...ha...(sampe sekarang aku masih merasa sangat tolol juga sih...) |

Thank you for writing about me in www.kafegaul.com for "Ungu Ditolak, Maylaffayza Tampil Memukau Di Istana". I really appriciate it. I think it is important that we keep all the positive sides exposed. I feel sorry for Ungu though, because the government specifically wanted to give them the award. I also had a chance to congratulate Cokelat at the event (Kikan was my high school friend, and we were both in the cheerleader team). Cokelat is a pure young generations nationalist, who made their own style, their own version of being nationalist, through their song "Bendera" which Eros wrote. The lyric was simple, pure, and represents their own style of patriotism.
But the most important thing is that you wrote the positive things, and that everyone should see that Sumpah Pemuda, should have everything to do with the development of our young generations, not the down fall. To me, i see it not only that. I see it as: my mentor Idris Sardi is passing me his legacy to play the lagu-lagu nasional. It was a great honor for me to perform "Bangun Pemudi Pemuda" and "Bagimu Negeri" with Idris Sardi my menthor and paduan suara Universitas Padjajaran, carrying on the spirit, and the fight to progress in whatever field our generations are doing.The 28 October is not only a date, and certainly those national songs were not just songs. It represents the fighting spirit.
Regeneration should happen, as it is the part of the circle of life. It should be positive.
So thank you again, for writing the positive things:)
